Torre Tallada was built at the close of the 19th century as the prosperous estate of Ricardo Lorenzales — a viticulturist of enormous regional consequence. In 1889, the same year the Eiffel Tower was raised, his work was distinguished at the Paris World's Fair as the first exporter of Spanish wine.
The property spans more than four hundred hectares between La Mancha and Valencia, straddling the regional road that connects the V-Albacete motorway, in Moixent, with Navalón and the wider Sierra de Enguera and Macizo del Caroig.
Old vineyards have given way to cereal and dense pine forest. The land remains a private hunting reserve and conserves, in the words of those who walk it, its mystery and its grandeur.
